There is no moment more uplifting and moving than the writing of a letter in a Torah scroll.
Each letter, each line of ink, engraves eternity and continues a sacred tradition passed down through the generations.
The writing of a Torah scroll embodies the eternal spirit of the Jewish people, faith, and spiritual continuity.
It is an act of light, of sanctifying God’s name, and a privilege beyond measure.
This artwork was painted in honor of my grandfather, Rabbi David Vales, who dedicated a Torah scroll to the “Ahavat Torah” synagogue in Jerusalem — in a deeply moving ceremony filled with joy and celebration.
The painting depicts the Rabbi Avish Eisen, zt”l writing a letter in the Torah, set against tones of fire, warmth, and light — symbolizing the warmth of the heart, the everlasting flame, and the eternal spirit of the Torah.
