One of the great sages of the previous generation, a righteous man who was the very foundation of the world.
He was renowned for his self-sacrifice in acts of kindness toward others, to an extent beyond measure.
In his lifetime, he became known as a worker of salvations beyond the laws of nature.
His holy image is considered a protection against all evil and brings abundance and blessing into the home.
It is also known as a proven spiritual remedy that drives away mice, even in persistent cases.
As you know me, I love to paint in many different styles.
In 2016, I practiced painting in a variety of styles; among them, I dedicated time to the Renaissance style. I painted a complex landscape of ancient Jerusalem, still lifes, and more. I also wanted to paint a figure using Renaissance colors and characteristics of the period.
I was looking for a righteous figure to paint.
A brilliant idea came to my mind: to paint Rabbi Yeshayele of Kerestir.
Until then (in 2016), there was only a single black-and-white photograph of him. I decided this would be a truly interesting challenge for me, and that at last the rabbi would have a beautiful color portrait.
Here is the well-known image that existed at the time — there was no color image at all!

And here is the image that the Creator of the World granted me the merit to paint, in the Renaissance style.

I have also launched magnets from this painting (15 × 10 cm), intended to be in every home for protection and safeguarding.
The magnets can be ordered in large quantities only, at special prices.
It is said that when a certain light descends into the world, it falls in several places.
And here I see more and more colorful paintings of the rabbi appearing…
The rabbi has begun to gain wider recognition:
miracles and wonders are witnessed by those who visit his gravesite, special stories about him are being published, soup kitchens are being opened in his memory, publications and journeys to his grave are taking place, and other artists have also tried their hand at portraying him.
Later on, I was asked to paint Rabbi Yeshayele in a more modern style, using a new style I developed that incorporates gold leaf.

May it be God’s will that this bring forth an abundance of salvations for all the people of Israel.
