“A land of wheat and barley, and grapevines, figs, and pomegranates; a land of olive oil and honey.”
When describing the good land in the Book of Deuteronomy, the Seven Species are mentioned:
“For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land… a land of wheat and barley, and grapevines, figs, and pomegranates; a land of olive oil and honey.”
Tu BiShvat has arrived
The early signs of Tu BiShvat are stores full of beautiful fruits in a variety of colors, and trays of cut fruits
in diverse sizes and shapes.
In our home as well, it is customary every year to prepare a colorful fruit table and hold a kind of “artist’s feast” to accrue merit.
Tu BiShvat is directly connected to the festival of Sukkot. It is customary to already pray on Tu BiShvat with a beautiful etrog; the Seven Species correspond to the Four Species of Sukkot.
The date palm from the Seven Species is used during Sukkot for the lulav and the sukkah roof.
It is also customary for many to hang fruits of the Seven Species in the sukkah.
For me, the connection between Tu BiShvat and Sukkot is especially expressed through a pair of different, yet similar, creations that are inspiring. These creations represent the Seven Species and serve as special and impressive decorations for the sukkah.
Prints from these creations adorn many sukkot in Israel and around the world, giving an elegant, dignified atmosphere, and serving as a reminder to thank God for the land and its fruits…
to increase in merit.
The first series is the colorful series:
An impressive creation full of life, with the amazing colorfulness of the rainbow.
A great excitement accompanied me during the creation, both because of the fascinating subject and because of the interesting format, planning, and innovations I added.
The special texture at the base, the composition of each species in a size of 80×25 cm, and the original colorfulness—a rainbow of shades.

One of my important clients won a purchase, and an original creation adorns the dining room of his home in Lakewood.

Other dear clients also won,
and a magnificent print adorns
their home or their sukkah.
See how many of us have a fondness for sukkah decoration.
Here is one of the examples for you.
The Seven Species presented in a luxurious and unique style on a blue background, inlaid with gold and silver leaves.

This special series was recently created for an exhibition on the Seven Species at the Raki’a Gallery.
I challenged myself to create a new piece in the spirit of the modern and contemporary style that has been present in my paintings recently, and to incorporate the striking trend of sparkling gold and silver leaves—and this is the impressive result.

This year I received a special greeting.
The weekly newsletter distributed in New York featured my creation as the cover page for Tu BiShvat.
You are invited to draw inspiration from the impressive fruits depicted in the artworks, and to go set up your Tu BiShvat table with the beautiful fruits that the Creator, the greatest Artist of all, gives us.
