In honor of Jerusalem Day – the day on which we were privileged to return and embrace the Holy City and the Holy Temple once again –
I would like to share with you a little of my deep connection to Jerusalem, along with some of the Jerusalem paintings I have been privileged to create throughout the years.
As a seventh-generation Jerusalem native born in the Holy City, Jerusalem for me is far more than a beautiful landscape or artistic inspiration.
Jerusalem is a soul.
It is the ancient longing of an entire people.
It is holiness, memory, prayer, and a deep connection to our Jewish roots.

Since childhood, I absorbed Jerusalem deeply into my heart.
I vividly remember the many visits to my grandparents’ home in Mea Shearim, in בתי ×”×•× ×’×¨×™× neighborhood –
the pure Jerusalem atmosphere, the scent of Shabbat in the streets, the stones of the ancient courtyards, the sounds, the noble figures, and the unique light unlike anything else in the world.
The Jerusalem of old was for me an entire world filled with depth and emotion.
The narrow alleyways, ancient gates, Jerusalem courtyards, balconies, stone houses, and the breathtaking views overlooking the Old City – all of these became engraved in my heart and over the years became an inseparable part of my artistic creation.

When I paint Jerusalem, I do not paint merely buildings or scenery.
I try to convey a feeling.
To bring into the artwork something of Jerusalem’s soft light, its heavenly holiness, the longing, and the deep inner connection that every Jew feels when thinking of Jerusalem.
Over the years, I have been privileged to paint Jerusalem in a variety of styles – from classical oil paintings to a more elegant and modern style that blends beautifully into today’s sophisticated interiors.
Paintings of the stones of the Western Wall, the gates of the city, Jerusalem landscapes, ancient courtyards, panoramic views of the Old City, and soulful Jewish moments.

I believe that Jewish art carries a power far beyond beauty and aesthetics.
Art can bring atmosphere into a home.
It can awaken emotion, bring warmth, strengthen Jewish identity, and add depth and soul to an entire space.
That is why it is especially moving for me to see Jerusalem paintings becoming part of homes throughout Israel and around the world – Jewish homes seeking not only beautiful design, but also inner connection, inspiration, and a sense of belonging.

Time and again, I am moved to see how a painting of Jerusalem succeeds in touching hearts, awakening memories, געגועי×, and a feeling of holiness even among people living far away from the Holy City.
On this Jerusalem Day, the heart fills with prayer and gratitude.
A prayer that we may soon merit to witness the rebuilding of complete Jerusalem, with joy, unity, and final redemption.
Wishing all of us to merit it very soon. 🌸
